The Short Version

We do not require an account, we do not store the words you generate, and we do not sell or share personal data with advertisers. The only information this site can see about you comes from two sources: an optional anonymous feedback form, and privacy-friendly, cookieless traffic analytics collected at the network edge. Everything else - your category choice, your difficulty filter, the words you draw, and the round timer - happens locally in your browser and is never transmitted anywhere.

What the Charades Generator Itself Does Not Collect

The core tool on the homepage is pure client-side JavaScript. When you pick a category, pick a difficulty, click "Get a word," or run the round timer, none of those actions are sent to a server. There is no database that logs which words you have seen, no account to lose access to, and nothing tied to your identity. The only thing the site remembers in your own browser is your light/dark theme preference, stored using your browser's localStorage feature - a small, functional setting that never leaves your device and is not a tracking cookie. The Optional Feedback Form

If you choose to use the "Give feedback" link on this site, you can submit a short anonymous message. The form does not ask for your name or email address, and we do not log your IP address or browser fingerprint alongside the message. Submitted feedback is used only to improve the site's content and the generator's word bank - for example, to add a category players ask for, or fix a word that does not fit its assigned difficulty. If you choose to include contact details voluntarily inside the message text itself, that is entirely your decision and outside our control once submitted.

Analytics: What We Use and Why

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics product that does not use tracking cookies and does not build cross-site profiles of visitors. It reports aggregate information such as which pages are viewed, which country a visit came from at a coarse level, and which site referred you (for example, a search engine or a social network) - never enough detail to identify you personally. This helps us understand which parts of the site are useful and which need improvement, without the invasive tracking that many analytics tools rely on.

Children's Privacy

This site is a general-audience party-game tool with no account creation, no personal data collection, and no way for a child to submit personal information through normal use of the generator. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and because there is no sign-up flow of any kind, there is no account data to worry about protecting in the first place.

Third-Party Links

This page and the rest of the site may occasionally link to outside resources (for example, background reading about the history of a party game). We do not control those third-party sites and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Data Retention

Because gameplay never touches a server, there is no gameplay data to retain or delete in the first place. Anonymous feedback-form submissions are kept only as long as needed to review and act on them, and are not linked to any identifying information since none is collected. Aggregate analytics figures are retained in summary form and are never disaggregated back down to an individual visit.

Because we do not maintain accounts or personal profiles, there is generally nothing tied to you individually to access, export, or delete.
